Monica Hits The Ground is an exercise in shared suffering, a quest for purity throughviolence. In its music, cruelty becomes a form of sincerity, a honest reconciliation with one’s emotional illness, embracing the inherent impurity of existence as a higher spiritual order of things. While sprouting in the techno field and ... drawing heavily from its tropes, Monica’s punishing sound makes no compromises with functional dance music. Both in the studio and in a live context, its purpose is to annihilate comfort zones, aiming towards a sense of intensity through discomfort and tension while keeping it real and never giving in to cheap shock value. By this means, it reaches a provoking, inward-rioting sound, more akin to the gloomier side of post punk and power electronics than to anything club-friendly. Starting the project in 2013, and graced with a Regis remix on its very first release, this unnamed italian producer operates its creature like a puppeteer talking through a pretty corpse.

Lorenzo Nari è cresciuto a Massa, ma la sua dimora è divenuta da un paio di anni Milano, dove è avvenuta la sua crescita musicale come Dj.
Da più di anno è un resident di Supernova e i suoi set sono caratterizzati dal tentativo di unire diversi generi, dalla techno all’electro, dall’early industrial alla coldwave, ma non solo, uniti dal suo gusto musicale che fa da filo conduttore. Trova la sua dimensione sia in apertura di serata che in chiusura, dove in ognuna può esprimere le sue diverse sfaccettature.
