Saturnalia presents the very first Italian performance of The Great Bailout, a project by Moor Mother and London Contemporary Orchestra.
Rapper, poet and activist Camae Ayewa (Moor Mother) envisioned this project as an investigation of the British slave industry, using her free-verse compositions to explore the tragic legacy of colonialism and it...s heavy burden on world history. After months of long, hard work in collaboration with the eclectic British ensemble, they developed a music piece that deals with tragedy, rage, heritage and history in a non-linear way, as the only way to confront such a hulking past is to immerse in its painful emotional and psychological toll.
Saturnalia is proud to present such a poignant and powerful work between the walls of Macao, affirming once more our engagement with art and creativity as entrenched in and through political activism.

Saturnalia presenta la prima performance italiana di The Great Bailout, un progetto di Moor Mother e London Contemporary Orchestra.
La rapper, poetessa e attivista Camae Ayewa (Moor Mother) ha immaginato questo progetto come un'indagine sullo schiavismo britannico, usando il verso libero per esplorare il tragico retaggio del colonialismo e il suo pesante fardello sulla storia mondiale. Da mesi di duro lavoro in collaborazione con l'eclettico ensemble britannico è nata una composizione che affronta tragedia, rabbia, retaggio e storia in maniera non lineare, poiché l'unico modo per affrontare un passato così vasto è immergersi nel suo doloroso carico emotivo e psicologico.
Saturnalia è orgogliosa di presentare un'opera così toccante e potente tra le mura di Macao, riaffermando ancora una volta il nostro coinvolgimento nella promozione di arte e cultura motivate e attraversate dall'attivismo politico.
