Atmosfera travolgente, originale e drammatica, definizione che ben rappresenta la musica dei White Hills, frutto dell'incontro tra sonorità stoner e psichedelica vorticosa, generata da strumenti convenzionali e campionatori elettronici. In una parola spacerock, come alla band piace definirla. Dave W. e Ego Sensation, insieme cuore pul...sante dei White Hills, si sono guadagnati una buona fama grazie alla loro corposa produzione discografica e al fatto di aver condiviso il palco con band come Mono, The Flaming Lips, Sleepy Sun, Cloudland Canyon, Mudhoney, Pontiak, The Cult e molte altre, da non dimenticarsi Julian Cope che li ha voluti con lui in uno dei suoi tour in Inghilterra. Compaiono anche nel film di Jim Jarmusch Only Lovers Left Alive mentre suonano Under Skin Or By Name contenuto nell'album Glitter Glamour Atrocity del 2007. Lavoro significativo dei White Hills è l'album del 2013 So You Are So You ll Be, esplosione concentrata di psichedelia in cui la band raggiunge il massimo della sua potenza rock & roll, urlando a gran voce di non essere una cometa dell universo spacerock, ma un fascio di energia che si getta sulla superficie terreste con il suo sound carico di adrenalina e di spiritualità. Vedere una band come questa esibirsi dal vivo significa esaltarne la fruizione della loro musica. Il lasciarsi trasportare dalle frequenti sezioni strumentali e di improvvisazione è un'esperienza ben diversa dall'ascolto delle registrazioni fatte in studio. L'ultimo album uscito è “Oddity X: Seek/Seize/Enjoy...BYE BYE” uscito lo scorso anno come CDr limited edition.

New York’s critically acclaimed WHITE HILLS has garnered a reputation as one of the most prolific and exciting live bands of their generation since forming in 2006. WHITE HILLS (comprised of core members Ego Sensation and Dave W) has toured extensively throughout Europe and North America and appears in Jim Jarmusch’s film Only Lovers Left Alive.

In January of 2019, the band took residence at Studio G in Greenpoint, Brooklyn with Jeff Berner (guitarist of Psychic TV) behind the control desk to record their 12th album. Inspired by the drone and roar of machinery pulsing through New York City, WHITE HILLS took to the streets to gather field recordings of drills, jackhammers and other instruments of (de)construction which they manipulated to submit to rhythm. Informed by industrial innovators Einstürzende Neubauten, the post-punk dance of Killing Joke, and the dub-electro of Cabaret Voltaire, WHITE HILLS has created a sensually feral, raw beast collection of songs. The album features guest appearances by Jim Jarmusch (filmmaker and musician), Yasmine Hamden, Simone Marie Butler (Primal Scream), Jim Coleman (Cop Shoot Cop) and Alex Macarte (GNOD)
