Russian cliches about a Russian band for sure, but totally relevant to Motorama who have barely let up since 2012 when their second album “Calendar” came out. A huge success with both audiences and critics, in France and abroad, right up to their last opus “Poverty” in January 2015. As regul...ar as clockwork, they have been cranking out tours – throughout Russia in all its vastness, repeatedly in continental Europe, as well as South America – posting videos and photo albums, delighting and racking up fans, and coming back with new records all over again. Poles apart from pompous music marketing Motorama have grafted with generosity and passion.

“Many Nights" is Motorama's fifth album released on September 21st, 2018, through Talitres. The recording lasted over five months in Vlad's apartment and band's rehearsal space. The new record is a mix of gothic Balearic beats and jangle pop guitars with the lyrics about transcendenсe and surreal worlds, influenced by Arthur Rimbaud and Alexander Blok. Ten songs are structured around a few instruments with the simple melodies and grooves, inspired by Soviet New Wave scene, the cinematographic electronic music of Eduard Artemiev, New Zealand kiwi pop and African percussion arrangements.

Avant-Garde are a Rome based band came to life in 1994 as a creation of Alessio Schiavi with the attitude to re-elaborate the classic dark-wave sound, trying to turn it into something more fresh, upgraded and new without losing the original feeling of 80's dark-wave.
After appearances at countless gothic festivals and on various compilations, it was from 2004 when the project evolved into a real band. Since then, the band released two full length albums (“Cyanure” in 2004 and the acclaimed “Iron in flesh” in 2008) and performed several gigs all over Europe, having the pleasure to be the support act for bands such as Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, Cinema Strange, And Also The Trees, For Against, Red Zebra, The Chameleons, Clan Of Xymox, White Rose Movement, Pink Turns Blue, Sad Lovers & Giants …

L’esperienza musicale Avant-Garde nasce nel 1994 grazie ad Alessio Schiavi, con l’intento di rielaborare il classico suono dark-wave dei primi anni ottanta, cercando di renderlo attuale, restando però fedeli alle peculiarità originali. Atmosfere malinconiche, melodie raffinate ed essenziali, oltre al cantato in italiano, diventano il marchio distintivo della band. La prima release ufficiale risale al 1999, un 12” EP omonimo limitato a 300 copie, seguito da due album; “Cyanure” (2004) ed “Iron In Flesh”. Quest’ultimo, uscito per In The Night Time nel 2008, è stato molto apprezzato dalla critica, ottenendo una nomination come “Album of the year” dal sito www.deathrock.com ed essere menzionato dalla webzine Erba Della Strega come uno degli album migliori usciti tra il 2000 e il 2009.
Dopo importanti cambi della line-up, viene realizzato nel 2013 il terzo album in studio, intitolato “Antitesi”, pubblicato dall’etichetta francese Manic Depression Records, considerato da molti come il loro migliore lavoro.
Negli ultimi anni gli Avant-Garde sono stati particolarmente attivi dal vivo sia in Italia che all’estero, anche condividendo il palco con grandi artisti, quali Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, And Also the Trees, Cinema Strange, White Rose Movement, For Against, Chameleons, Clan of Xymox e partecipando ad importanti eventi tra i quali “Le Fantastique Night” in Brussels e, come headliners, “Avant-Gardism from beyond” in San Pietroburgo.
Nel febbraio 2015 Swiss Dark Nights e Manic DepressionRecords co-producono il live ufficiale “IL BUIO SU ROMA”, una release per celebrare i 20 anni della band, riunendone i brani più rappresentativi…
