Bio: DOUBLE SPLIFF SOUND SYSTEM

Double Spliff è un sound system attivo nell’area della Val Cesano (Marche Italy) dal 2010.
Nel 2003 il suo fondatore LELE (selecta & promoter) fece sì che la musica reggae arrivasse per la prima volta nella realtà locale attraverso dj set più o meno sporadici, determinando così la nascita di una (seppur piccola) vivace scena musicale emergente.
A seguito dell’incontro con Mr.P (operator, producers & musicians), l’idea da tempo caldeggiata di dare vita a un vero e proprio ‘muro sonoro’ si concretizzò: il sound system venne costruito e la proposta musicale di Double Spliff maturò, approdando alla Reggae/Dub made in UK suonata esclusivamente con supporto vinilico, in puro sound system style. Tutt’ora Mr.P rimane uno fra i pochi costruttori di Dub Siren e Pre amp in Italia, riconosciuti unanimemente come prodotti di notevole qualità; nel 2015 si aggiunge nelle schiere della Double Spliff Posse MANNAROMAN, aspirante e talentuoso toaster anche lui membro della comunità della bassa valle del Cesano. in ultimo nel 2017 BOTTAMAN un nuovo ma vecchio amico della triade si aggiunge alla crew come selecta. Double Spliff sound system si propone come un’entità musicale completa e compatta, contraddistinta da ricerca musicale e consapevolezza sonora, in grado di ricreare un sound molto vicino a quello della scena Dub inglese ed odierna; il Sound giallo e nero ha ospitato sul proprio hi-fi artisti di fama nazionale ed internazionale: da Brother Culture a Tsaadiq, da Michael Exodus ad Iration Steppas passando per Obf, mc Baco, radio fontani, Dub engine, Bababoom hi-fi, Capra & DanMan e partecipando come ospiti a rilevanti festival Reggae e Dub quali Bababoom Festival, Zion station festival, Castello Dub, Abroots festival, Dubstone festival e Amsterdam sound system weekender, Double Spliff sound system è andato ritagliandosi una notevole nicchia nel panorama Roots/Reggae/Dub marchigiano e non solo.

DOUBLE SPLIFF SOUND SYSTEM

Double Spliff is a sound system rooted&grounded in the Val Cesano area (Marche ITALY) since 2010.
In 2003 its founder Lele (selecta & promoter) set the foundation for a lively emerging music scene: with several dj sets here and there he made sure people from Val Cesano had a first taste of reggae music.
After meeting Mr P. (the former operator/producer & musicians of Double Spliff sound system), they together conceived the idea of giving birth to a real "sound wall": the sound system was built and the musical proposal of Double Spliff grew mature, getting closer to the musical standard set by UK stepper, ruff & tuff heavy dubz and a strictly vinyl music selection. Nowadays Mr.P still remains one of the few Italian handicraftsman being able to build Dub sirens and Pre amps, unanimously recognized as products of remarkable quality; in 2015 Mannaroman MC joined the Double spliff crew, and last but not the least Bottaman, a young & promising selecta took part in the musical mission. Double Spliff is a versatile reality marked by musical taste and conscious contents, imagined & shaped in order to recreate the musical atmosphere that can be usually found in Uk Dub clubs and all over Europe; the Yellow and Black Sound hosted on its own hi-fi International producers & singers: from Brother Culture to tsaadiq, from Michael Exodus to Iration Steppas passing through Obf, mc Baco, radio fontani, Dub engine Capra & DanMan; we also attended (as guests) several renewed Reggae and Dub festivals such as Bababoom Festival, Zion Station festival, Dub Castle, Abroots festival , Dubstone festival and Amsterdam Sound System Weekender. Double Spliff sound system is a steady reality in the local area and, who knows, maybe even a little bit further.
