Il 14 Giugno del 2019, ha pubblicato il suo album d’esordio dal titolo Transitions. Il suo è un progetto musicale sorprende e... sta suscitando un forte interesse per aver attirato fin dai suoi primi passi l’attenzione di produttori big internazionali. Tra questi, Howie B (produttore negli anni di Bjork, U2 e Tricky), Marc Urselli (deus ex machina di Lou Reed, Nick Cave, Mike Patton e John Zorn) e Paul Savage (storico produttore dei Mogwai, Franz Ferdinand, Arab strap) con il quale è entrata in studio per lavorare all’album. Tale cornice conferisce al progetto un respiro internazionale e fa di Gold Mass una degli artisti al debutto più interessanti di questo anno. Ad oggi sono stati pubblicati cinque singoli: Happiness in a way (scelto dagli editor di Spotify per comparire nella playlist New Music Friday UK), Our reality, May love make us, Sentimentally performed e Mineral love. Recensioni del lavoro dell’artista sono comparse su il Fatto Quotidiano, la Repubblica, il Manifesto, Vanity Fair e sulle principali testate del settore musicale. Le sonorità scure e minimali dell’album accompagnano la scrittura intima dell’autrice e ne sottolineano l’attitudine all’introspezione ed alla confessione. Il progetto è totalmente indipendente, autogestito ed autofinanziato ed in linea con la corrente Do It Yourself che lo scenario estero indica come nuovo trend contemporaneo. Alla pubblicazione dell’album sta seguendo un tour italiano ed europeo che vede l’artista impegnata per tutto il 2019 e 2020. Data la portata del produttore coinvolto e l’alone di mistero che avvolge l’artista, è facile intuire il potenziale racchiuso in questo che è un progetto appena nato ma ha tutti gli aspetti di un lavoro già maturo.

I am a songwriter and my name is GOLD MASS.
My music has a dark and intimate soul. There’s no malice nor superficiality in the creative moment. There’s not even the thought of an audience. Writing for me is first of all an intimate act, there is nothing else, there is no one else. My songs are always born out of a tension that I need to express in words and sounds. I only write about things that I live. That’s my way of understanding what I feel and emancipating myself from it. Only then I feel released.
Some say art is an exorcism, music is a big prayer. I believe this is true.
It’s not just a matter of passion, writing music is a powerful therapy. And when it’s done, it keeps you the sweetest company. It may even become entertainment for someone else who resonates with it. It’s a fascinating communication cycle.
