Bohémien (Italian Wave Legend)

live at Traffic Club Roma, Saturday 25th January 2020.

Having formed the band in 1985, they publish the demotape “Sangue e Arena” in december of the same year. After their live debut at the Piper, historical club in the center of Roma, they play numerous gigs all around Italy and disband in 1987.

Bohémien returned on the stage in 2...002 when Alex Buccini (voice), Luciano Liberatore (guitar) and Walter Vincenti (drums), three of the members of the original line up, decided to relive the band that originally existed between 1985 and 1987.

2019 - present
After a pause of 6 years the Bohémien return on stage to celebrate the 35th anniversary of their foundation. There are some new developments in the line up with the entry of multi-instrumentalist Noemi Colletti and the return of drummer Gianmarco Bellumori, who had already collaborated with the group in the early 10s.

Nascono a Roma nel 1985. Al termine dello stesso anno pubblicano il demotape “Sangue e Arena”, ispirato a scure sonorità post-punk di derivazione anglosassone, caratterizzate dal cantato in italiano. Scoperti in “cantina” da Luciano Parisi dell'Art Production, che li fa esordire al Piper Club di Roma nel febbraio 1986, i Bohémien rivelano fin da subito una spiccata attitudine teatrale nei loro live-show, caratteristica che rimarrà costante in tutta la loro carriera. Nel corso del bienno 1986-1987, tengono altri importanti concerti in Italia (tra cui Stadio Flaminio di Roma, QBO di Bologna, I^ edizione di Arezzo Wave di Arezzo), chiudendo la prima fase della loro attività al momento della partenza del batterista Walter per l'Argentina.
Walter insieme ad Alex (voce) e Luciano (chitarra) era infatti parte del nucleo fondamentale della band, lo stesso da cui si ripartirà nel 2002, anno in cui i Bohémien ricominciano la loro attività. La nuova fase del gruppo è contrassegnata dalla pubblicazione dell'album CD “Danze Pagane” (ITNT, 2003), dell'EP “La Parata del Circo” (ITNT, 2005), dalla partecipazione ad alcune importanti compilation tra cui “Pagan Love Songs Antitaitment Compilation”, edita in Germania da Alice In/Dark Dimensions (2004), che registra a livello internazionale la rinascita della scena gothic punk. La visibilità internazionale li porta ad esibirsi anche al di fuori dell'Italia, partecipando a due edizioni consecutive del Drop Dead Festival di New York (III^ ed. 2005, due concerti al Knitting Factory e all'Avalon Old Limelight di Manhattan con headliner Nina Hagen; IV^ ed. 2006, Knitting Factory, con headliner Lene Lovich).
A seguito della tragica scomparsa di Walter, avvenuta nel 2006, i Bohémien si esibiscono utilizzando la drum machine in vari live in Italia e all’estero (Die Wunderkur Festival, Bologna, 2006; Bats Over Milan Festival, Milano, co-headliner con Skeletal Family, 2007; Gothic Pogo Festival, Lipsia, 2008; Be Cool, Barcellona, 2008; VIII Road to Ruins Punk Rock Festival, Roma, 2009), fino all'ingresso nel gruppo nel 2010 della batterista Valentina che, insieme a Gian Paolo (basso) e i due 'veterani' Alex e Luciano, costituisce l'attuale assetto della formazione.
Nel 2012 i Bohémien, dopo alcune esibizioni live a Roma, Bologna e Napoli, hanno registrato il nuovo album che segna una nuova rinascita e che per questo sarà intitolato semplicemente “Bohémien”.

I Bohémien hanno suonato con (opening acts/festival): Nico, CCCP, Diva Destruction, Wire, Cinema Strange, Nina Hagen, Lene Lovich, UK Decay, Vanishing, New Days Delay, Skeletal Family.

Formed in September 2017 by Fabiano (formerly of Chants of Maldoror) Mirko (formerly of Human Disease and Sex Chair Provider) and Tony Volume (also in Idol Lips).
Playing evocative, aggressive and crude dark rock with male vocals, lots of attitude and no compromises.
Debut album somewhere in 2019.
